Multi-Channel Column Washing System

Multi-Channel Column Washing System is a standalone column washer that does not occupy the HPLC. A six-position, seven-port electric valve switches among up to six columns. The dual-piston pump delivers 0.001–9.999 mL/min at up to 42 MPa, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen runs stored wash methods.

Washes columns without tying up the HPLC

The washer is a separate unit. A wash does not require the analytical or preparative HPLC to be taken offline.

A stored method pumps the chosen wash solvent through the column and removes material adsorbed on the packing. The aim is to keep separation behavior and extend the time a column stays in service.

The set is the main unit, the switching valve and a column rack. Solvent lines are offered as 1, 2 or 4 paths. The pump head is 316L stainless steel by default; other materials can be specified.

Functions

Multi-column switchingSix-position, seven-port electric valve. Up to six columns are washed by switching position.
Choice of wash solventOne, two or four solvent lines. The instrument changes solvent according to the stored method.
Timed runRun time can be set, so the wash does not need an operator standing by.
PumpDual pistons in series. Nominal pump-head size 10 mL. Flow accuracy ±0.5%; flow repeatability RSD ≤ 0.3%.
Touchscreen7.0 inch, 1024×600. Flow, pressure limits, method, column position and remaining time are set on the screen.
MethodsMethods can be edited, stored and revised.
Seal lifeFloating piston, intended to extend seal life.
AlarmsThe specification table lists low-solvent and over-pressure alarms. The function list also names solvent-level monitoring and a low-pressure alarm.

How a wash is set up

  1. Connect the columnsAttach each column to a valve position. Up to six columns.
  2. Connect the solventUse the purchased line count: 1, 2 or 4. Outlet tubing from the pump head is 1/16 in. O.D.; the inlet is 1/8 in. O.D.
  3. Choose a methodOn the touchscreen, select or edit flow, time, solvent and column position. Methods can be stored.
  4. RunThe instrument switches column position and solvent according to the method. A run time can be set.
  5. AlarmsThe unit alarms when solvent is low or pressure exceeds the limit. The stated pressure limit is 42 MPa.

Ordering

There is no public catalog number. When you enquire, please give column dimensions and how many columns, the wash solvents, whether you need 1, 2 or 4 solvent lines, and whether the pump head should be something other than 316L. Tel. 400-0810-128 (China).

Need a demonstration?

Tell us the columns and solvents you wash. An engineer will confirm the configuration.
